Sigh...

I spent nearly a year anticipating the crop in Jasper.  I have to tell you, it was wonderful!  Everything is so laid back, the food and service at the hotel was awesome... but most importantly there was a great group of women there!  Everyone came with the intention of enjoying themselves and creating some amazing pages!  And now I am already looking forward to next year.  Some days I shake my head in marvel at how tough my job is!!!

I was tagged!!!!

And it was over a month ago!  How bad a blogger am I that I am getting to it now, lol!  There are only so many hours in a day, and I am so much nicer to be around when I get sleep!!!!!

Anyways, thanks to my friend Roslyn I've been tagged and now you will learn 6 random facts about me.  Be prepared, they will be scintillating!!!!

1.  I love my suburban life!  Small town feel, but close enough to the city if you want it.  Used to hate that everywhere I went I would run into someone I knew (or knew my grandma and they would tell her everything i was up to!!!!).  Now I love running into people at the grocery store.  Best of both worlds in 'burbia if you ask me.  But we are lucky (I think) that we live here without the commute.  Mark drives 5 minutes to work... and I get to work in my pajamas!)

2.  I stand back so often and marvel at the life I am living!  It is sooooo not what i pictured when I was dreaming about my future.  I imagined myself in an office somewhere.  I love where I have ended up and now can't picture myself anywhere else.  I especially love that I don't have to be at an office at 8am!!!!

3.  I don't have a sweet tooth.  I could live my life without chocolate.  Nachos on the other hand....

4.  I regret not traveling more when we were first married.  We got responsible way too soon!  There are so many places I want to see.  Especially ones with no snow!

5.  I want to grow my own vegetables this year and process them to use all winter long.  I have no idea how to do this, but we have a big patch of garden available at mom and dad's.  Yikes!  This may be truly biting off more than I can chew!!!!

6.  I would love to be rid of my glasses.  30 years is enough!  BUT have not been brave enough to move beyond wishing and dreaming.  I'll be 40 in a couple of years and that strikes me as the perfect thing to do to celebrate.

The verdict is in....

not so much a blogger!!!!!

What can I say.... things have been pretty quiet here. Had a very hectic fall and have just enjoyed laying low, hanging out close to home. Know what i have really been loving the past few months? Being able to spend time in Avery's kindergarten classroom. The demographics are such that there are not a lot of parents who can volunteer, so I am there sometimes three times a week. I am glad to have had this bit of down time for that reason especially!

I love seeing another side of Avery... she is different at school. Quieter, more reserved, a little unsure. She does not offer a lot of info in the classroom, but don't be fooled!!! She is picking it all up and more. She speaks so much french now that it amazes me... she is even making up little songs in french!! I love that i know all the people in her class, can help her sort out little things and have a full understanding of what she is learning too!

We are sorting out some issues with her physically, and I need to book an assessment with a physiotherapist. Given my background as a developmental specialist all the things that should be done to support her gross motor skills have been done. And she still has trouble. Just small things, but they are proving a distraction in the classroom to her, and to others as well. Simple things like sitting crosslegged on the floor she has trouble with. She gets so uncomfortable that she flops all over the place and into her neighbors, can't concentrate and is generally disruptive. Nothing earth shattering, but if there is more that we can do to loosen up her little leg muscles then we'll do what we can.

And... better late than never!!!! I had Avery draw names and Corinne... I will have a little goody sent your way. It was indeed a mom working at Home Depot selling snow shovels!
